Terms of service
Document: Japan · Version 2026-10-03.1
These Terms explain the conditions for using Mirario, and the Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.
Ordinary service operations use AI, authentication, purchase, analytics and other service providers. Initial availability is for people aged eighteen or older, subject also to regional adulthood and contract requirements. Research is a separate, optional choice; people who meet ordinary service eligibility conditions may use the app after refusing or withdrawing research consent.
1. Provider and scope
- Mirario is provided by Nullon Inc. (株式会社Nullon), referred to as “Nullon”, “we” or “us”. These Terms govern use of Mirario, including guest use, account use and paid features. The Privacy Policy below explains personal information handling; accepting these Terms does not itself authorize optional research or every use of sensitive information.
- To check service eligibility and select documents, we may use device region and language settings and, in Canada, your declared province or territory of residence. Service is unavailable to Quebec residents. Availability in an app store does not mean service is available in every province or territory. Settings and declarations are not proof of residence, and a mismatch alone is not a violation. This eligibility policy does not displace laws applicable to the actual circumstances or rights concerning information already collected. Contact us about a mistaken selection, a move or documents that do not match your circumstances.
2. What Mirario provides
- Mirario helps you describe an ideal self twenty years into the future and reflect on present choices. Features include basic and future profiles, imagined family and lifestyle information, AI-generated future posts and messages, a timeline, conversations with an AI representation of your future self, conversation history and ratings, diary conversations and generated diaries, and Foresight questions and future-comparison reports. You can review or edit supported profile information, manage settings and send feedback.
- Some functions and usage allowances differ between guests, free members and premium members. Premium does not mean unlimited use. Current availability and applicable allowances are governed by the conditions displayed in the service and purchase information. Maintenance, failures, allowances or operational constraints can temporarily affect loading, saving or generation.
3. Accounts and guests
- Member sign-in uses supported Google or Apple connections through Clerk. Guest use does not require entering an email address, but uses account identifiers, authentication and server processing; it is not an offline or wholly anonymous service. Where supported, linking a guest account to a member account keeps that account’s service data.
- Protect your device, sign-in credentials and guest recovery information. Do not sell, lend or transfer account access. Loss of guest recovery information can prevent recovery of the original account; data access on a replacement device is not guaranteed. Tell us promptly about suspected unauthorized access. Your responsibility is limited by applicable law and does not excuse our own security obligations.
4. Age eligibility and optional research
- The ordinary service is initially available to people aged eighteen or older; people under eighteen may not use it. Eighteen is included, but you must also meet adulthood, contractual-capacity and other eligibility conditions applicable in your region of residence. At the start of use, proceeding from Welcome requires entering your date of birth and checking age before consent. In Canada, a dedicated province or territory selection screen follows before consent. People under eighteen cannot proceed to consent; they are directed back to the beginning of Welcome and shown a modal notice that use is prohibited. People who do not meet the eligibility conditions cannot begin chat. Initial availability does not include use by minors on the basis of parent or guardian consent. If we introduce availability for minors, we will separately explain its conditions and required parent or guardian support.
- Research participation is optional and limited to people aged eighteen or older. Refusing or withdrawing research consent does not prevent app use by people who meet the ordinary service’s age, regional and contract conditions. Reaching eighteen does not create research consent automatically. Research information and a separate affirmative choice must precede participation.
5. AI limitations and urgent help
- Your “future self” is generated by AI, not a human, a conscious being, an actual memory or a prediction of what will happen. Generated posts, conversations, diaries, reports and numerical comparisons can be inaccurate, biased, incomplete or distressing. We do not guarantee AI accuracy, future events, achievement of goals, improvements in mental or physical health, or other outcomes. Check important information independently and take breaks when needed; AI interaction should not replace human relationships or professional care.
- Mirario does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, psychotherapy, legal or financial advice, or an emergency response service. We do not promise that distress or self-harm will be detected, that a human monitors conversations in real time, or that someone will contact emergency services for you. Seek a qualified professional for decisions requiring professional judgment.
- If there is immediate danger in Japan, call 119 for ambulance or fire services, or 110 for police, and seek help from someone nearby. Elsewhere use your local emergency number. For non-immediate distress, seek a qualified local support or crisis service rather than waiting for an app response.
6. Your content and intellectual property
- You retain rights you hold in your inputs. Give us permission, only as needed to provide and maintain the service you request, to store, process, reproduce and send those inputs to the service providers described in the Privacy Policy, and to generate and display outputs for you. This service permission is not a license for unrestricted publication of private content, optional research disclosure or model training.
- Provide only information you are lawfully entitled to provide, including information about family members. Do not unnecessarily include another person’s identifiable or sensitive information, especially about children. This does not transfer our privacy responsibilities to you. AI outputs may resemble other outputs and may not qualify for copyright or exclusive ownership. Check third-party rights before using or sharing them.
- Mirario software, branding and other materials remain the property of their rights holders. You receive a limited right to use the app for its intended purposes, subject to these Terms and applicable open-source licenses. Do not copy or redistribute protected materials except with authorization or as permitted by law.
7. Prohibited conduct and accurate information
- Do not use Mirario for unlawful conduct, exploitation or sexual abuse of children, harassment, threats, infringement of others’ rights, impersonation, unauthorized access, malware, disruption, or circumvention of access, safety or payment controls. Do not extract protected service data or reverse engineer software except where applicable law permits it.
- Do not deliberately provide a false date of birth or falsify device region, residence, province or territory to bypass age, research, service-territory or legally required protective restrictions. This includes deliberately concealing Quebec residence while knowing that Quebec residents are outside the service territory. Good-faith correction of mistakes, updates after a move and legitimate settings changes are allowed. An age-check refusal history, a regional mismatch or a past Quebec selection alone does not establish an intentional violation or actual residence. You may ask us for assistance with a legitimate correction.
- Where reasonable verification establishes an intentional violation, we may suspend research participation, restrict or suspend service use, or take other proportionate measures under section 10. Responsibility for loss caused by that violation depends on evidence, causation and applicable law, and is limited to loss attributable to the violation. This is not an unrestricted indemnity or an exemption from responsibility for our own conduct.
8. Premium purchases, trials and renewal
- Paid offers are presented through the applicable Apple App Store or Google Play purchase flow, with RevenueCat used to manage purchase status and entitlements. Before confirming a purchase, check the displayed price, currency, taxes, subscription period, included features, any trial, introductory-discount or campaign conditions, renewal price and cancellation deadline. Special prices apply only under the displayed eligibility, deadline, redemption limits and other conditions; the same price may not continue on renewal. Later campaigns do not retroactively change the conditions of an established purchase.
- An auto-renewing subscription renews and is charged through the purchase store unless you cancel in accordance with that store’s displayed terms. A trial may convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled in time. Renewals and price changes require the notices and choices required by applicable law and store rules; agreement to these Terms alone is not authorization for an undisclosed charge.
9. Cancellation, restoration and refunds
- Manage or cancel subscriptions with the store account used to buy them. Deleting Mirario, logging out, deleting an app account or withdrawing research consent does not itself cancel a store subscription. Cancel through the purchase store before its applicable deadline. Access after cancellation is governed by the remaining entitlement period and the offer’s terms; expiration, revocation or refund can end premium access.
- Use the supported restore-purchases function with the correct store and Mirario accounts. Restoration depends on an eligible existing purchase and successful identity and entitlement checks; it does not guarantee recovery of deleted app data or transfer of a purchase between unrelated accounts.
- Request Apple refunds through https://reportaproblem.apple.com/ and Google Play refunds through https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637 . Store refund eligibility and procedures apply, together with mandatory consumer rights. Contact contact@nullon.com for app or purchase-status problems and assistance with remedies for which we are responsible. We do not impose a universal “no refunds” rule or guarantee a store’s approval.
10. Suspension, changes to availability and account closure
- You may stop using Mirario and use the account-deletion procedure in settings, including the guest-deletion procedure where applicable, or contact us for assistance. Research withdrawal is a separate choice and does not require account closure. Personal information is handled under the retention and deletion provisions of the Privacy Policy.
- For security incidents, material violations, legal requirements or necessary maintenance, we may restrict or suspend affected functions or accounts to the extent reasonably necessary. We will provide notice and reasons where lawful and practicable, and a way to contact us to contest a mistaken decision. Urgent protective action may precede notice. Suspension does not automatically erase a paid purchase or eliminate statutory remedies.
- We may change or discontinue features for reasonable operational reasons, with advance notice of material adverse changes where practicable and as required by law. Any change affecting a prepaid service must respect applicable refund, cancellation and other consumer rights.
11. Responsibility and limits
- We do not guarantee the accuracy or originality of AI outputs, their suitability for a particular decision, or uninterrupted or error-free service. Using external services or AI models does not remove obligations we owe you. This section does not exclude duties, warranties or remedies that law does not permit us to exclude.
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, and only where loss results from the ordinary negligence of Nullon, its representatives or persons it uses to perform its obligations, the loss for which we are liable is limited to ordinary loss directly caused by that negligence, whether the claim arises in contract, tort or otherwise. This restriction does not apply to intentional misconduct or gross negligence of Nullon, its representatives or those persons; harm to life or bodily integrity; or any other loss, right or remedy for which applicable law prohibits a restriction. Mandatory protections under applicable consumer, privacy and other law prevail.
- For an established intentional age or region bypass under section 7, we may rely on that violation only to the extent it caused the claimed loss and the law permits. We remain responsible for our own acts and omissions. Nothing guarantees a particular litigation result, shifts the legal burden of proof, or waives a right to complain to a regulator.
12. Changes, notices and separate consent
- We will identify the revised text, effective date and material changes through appropriate in-app or other accessible notices. Changes must comply with applicable contract and consumer law. Where affirmative agreement or a new privacy or research consent is required, we will obtain it before applying the relevant change; continued use alone is not treated as that separate consent.
- If you do not accept a change that requires agreement, you may stop using the affected service, cancel a purchase through the store and exercise any applicable remedies. If a provision is invalid, other provisions remain effective only to the extent legally permitted.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
- Japanese law governs these Terms. For disputes within a valid jurisdiction agreement, the Tokyo District Court or Tokyo Summary Court is a court of first instance. This designation is non-exclusive and does not prevent proceedings in another court where applicable law gives you that right.
- Mandatory consumer and privacy protections and legally available complaint, cancellation and judicial rights prevail over inconsistent terms. An English translation or device-based selection does not remove those protections.
14. Contact and company details
